PCGS 1 was the first slab used by PCGS when it started grading coins in February 1986. It is slightly narrower and shorter and much thinner than later slabs.  It is commonly known as a "Rattler" because when shaken the coin rattles inside the holder.  The paper used for the label was green and appears to have been printed with a dot matrix printer.  There is no hologram or barcode.  The ragged edge of perforations are visible on each end of the label.
